Meet the In House Team
Dan
Director and Licensed Builder
With over 25 years building behind him, and a QBCC license holder since 2005, Dan has enjoyed a wide range of experiences within the building industry. After finishing uni, with a degree in Construction Management and 12 years in project management he left the the desk behind to use his hands more. He attended the fantastic Sturt School for Wood in the NSW Southern Highlands, immersing himself in learning all he could about fine furniture making. While loving it, financial realities saw his path evolve from here to solid timber joinery, shopfitting, and cabinetmaking. The last ten years, have been spent in the restoration of beautiful old Queenslanders. All these experiences are drawn upon now to create each new tiny home. Quality workmanship, attention to detail and a love for immersion in the build process help combine in the creation of our unique and beautiful tiny homes.
Linda
Director and Designer
With a lifelong passion for all things design, Linda's creativity started with making clothes for friends while still at school. Fashion design school followed, then CAD design work in Melbourne, Sydney and overseas fashion houses. On her return to Australia, and feeling somewhat disenchanted with the materialism of the fashion world, Linda was looking for a change and felt a pull toward building design. Coincidentally she met and married Dan, and the match was good. Upon completing her studies in 2006 she worked with a large project builder, as well as high end renovation projects for individual clients and residential builders.
In 2015, Dan and Linda combined forces with the establishment of their first business together, Danlin Building and Design.
Always immensly passionate about the environment, Linda has always looked for ways to design sustainably with focus on orientation and smart passive design.
Moving into the world of Tiny Homes was therefore an exciting concept, allowing the opportunity for her to create beautiful spaces with a small footprint, minimising materials and the reduction on consumerism to fill the space.
With over 25 years of construction experience and a QBCC license holder since 2005, Dan's journey in the building industry has been diverse. He initially pursued a degree in Construction Management and spent 12 years in project management. However, his passion led him away from the office, and he honed his skills at the renowned Sturt School for Wood in the NSW Southern Highlands, focusing on fine furniture making.
While his love for crafting fine furniture was undeniable, practical considerations led him towards solid timber joinery, shopfitting, and cabinetmaking. Over the past decade, he has dedicated his expertise to restoring beautiful old Queenslanders. Drawing from this rich background, he now applies his skills and knowledge to create each unique and beautiful tiny home. His commitment to quality workmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine passion for being immersed in the building process all come together to craft our exceptional tiny homes.
